Mike Kennedy brings more than 20 years of tax and legal experience to his clients. Mike represents individuals and the business community in tax planning, tax controversies, business law, and estate planning. With extensive experience in all types of tax matters, as well as in negotiation and/or drafting of simple and complex estate plans, business sale agreements, and corporate governance documents, Mike is able to explain complex legal and tax matters in language that clients can comprehend.
Prior to founding the firm in 1999, Mike was a manager for a Minneapolis public accounting firm where he oversaw the firm’s small business group and the estate planning and compliance group. Prior to that he worked for the Internal Revenue Service (IRS) and for the Minnesota Department of Revenue. Mike earned his Bachelor of Arts in Economics from Macalester College in St. Paul, Minnesota, and studied accounting at the University of Minnesota. He attended William Mitchell College of Law in St. Paul, Minnesota where he earned his Juris Doctor.
Outside of the office, Mike enjoys spending time with his four children. He also coaches various youth sports teams (hockey, soccer, baseball), and volunteers for numerous wildlife preservation and church related organizations.
